Mat Robins and Cam Trewin started Sonic Vacuum as a way to network with artists as well as using the opportunity to build up a killer live recording rig. In a way, they’re the little guys of the story, not because of sound quality, capacity or reliability, but because they’ve built up their rig to be exactly that, little. Robins and Trewin’s rolling rack case can be up and recording anywhere in 15 minutes, and by anywhere, they mean anywhere. Even pint-sized store rooms become makeshift studios for these two.
